The lunar year 2009 is the Ji Chou (Ox) year (NaYin element: Thunderbolt Fire (Pi Li Huo)). Under the official Vietnamese UTC+7 astronomical standard, Lunar New Year Day (1st of the 1st Lunar Month) falls on Monday, 26/01/2009, preceded by a full 30-day 12th Lunar Month (New Year's Eve falls on 30/12). In Four Pillars of Destiny (BaZi) and Feng Shui, the solar-term year transitions at Start of Spring (Lichun) on Feb 03, 2009 at 23:50 (UTC+7). Astronomically, the 2009 lunar year contains a Leap Month 5. Both Vietnamese UTC+7 and East Asian UTC+8 meridians align on the same Gregorian Lunar New Year date this year.
