Đường hôn nhân trên bàn tay: cách xem và những lời đồn cần bỏMarriage lines on the palm: how to read them, and the myths to drop

The short marks on the edge of the hand below the little finger are the marriage lines. No line is asked about more, or misread more. This piece shows exactly where they are, zooms into the hand edge, walks through each mark the palm books mention, then names the myths to drop and how the Master reads these lines beside the Spouse palace on the face.

The marriage lines are one or a few short marks on the outer edge of the hand, between the base of the little finger and the heart line. Readers look at their number, length, depth, forks and curve. Palm books treat them as signs of deep bonds, not a count of weddings, and counting them to predict marriages or children is a myth worth dropping. Master Ung Khiem reads them together with the Spouse palace on the face, never alone.

Đường hôn nhân là gì, nằm ở đâuWhat the marriage lines are and where they lie

The Sinh Trac Tam Tuong hub page places the marriage lines as follows: short marks on the outer edge between the base of the little finger and the heart line. The hub lists what physiognomy reads in them as marriage ties and deep bonds.

On the right, a close up of the edge below the little finger: two short marks between the base of the little finger and the heart line (gold).

Sách xem tay phương Tây tả cùng một chỗ. Cheiro, tức William John Warner (1866 tới 1936), trong cuốn Palmistry for All năm 1916 viết rằng đường hôn nhân là dấu hay những dấu nằm ở cạnh gò dưới ngón thứ tư, tức ngón út. Gò ấy là gò Thủy Tinh, trang tổng ghi: ăn nói, buôn bán, sự lanh lợi. William Benham trong The Laws of Scientific Hand Reading (1900) cũng đặt các vạch này trên gò Thủy Tinh, luôn là vạch ngang, khởi từ mép ngoài bàn tay chạy vào lòng tay.

Western palm books describe the same spot. Cheiro, that is William John Warner (1866 to 1936), in Palmistry for All (1916) wrote that the line of marriage is the mark or marks found on the side of the mount under the fourth finger, the little finger. That is the Mercury mount, which the hub links with speech, trade, quick wit. William Benham in The Laws of Scientific Hand Reading (1900) also puts these lines on the Mercury mount, always as cross lines starting from the outside of the hand and running into the palm.

Because the lines start at the edge, a face on view of the palm often shows only their tails. To see them whole, look at the little finger edge from the side.

Right: the back of the hand is light, the palm dark, and the marriage lines start at the edge (gold dashes) and run into the palm, between the base of the little finger and the heart line.
Tự xem mép tay thế nàoHow to look at your own hand edge

Close the fingers lightly, cup the hand a little and turn the little finger edge toward the light. A true line is a horizontal crease, not a wrinkle that shows only when the hand bends. Count from the heart line up toward the base of the little finger, and note clear and faint lines separately.

Một, hai, ba vạch: số vạch nói gìOne, two, three lines: what the number says

The first question everyone asks is how many lines they have. Most hands show one to a few, some clear, some faint. What the palm books read into this varies, and below are two classic texts, cited for reference.

Hình 3. Bốn khung phóng to mép lòng bàn tay phải: một vạch rõ, hai vạch, ba vạch, nhiều vạch mờ.Figure 3. Four close ups of the right palm edge: one clear line, two lines, three lines, many faint lines.

Palm books read it this way. Benham wrote that many lines show someone susceptible in affairs of the heart, and a single line one deep affection. He stressed that, properly speaking, these are lines of deep affection rather than lines of marriage. Cheiro added a distinction: only the clearly formed lines relate to marriage, the short ones to deep affection, or a marriage contemplated but never entered into.

What both books share is the word bond. A deep first love, a spouse, a relationship of many years could each leave a line in this reading. That is why the Master calls them lines of deep bonds, and never reads them as a number of weddings.

Độ dài, độ sâu và vị trí của vạchLength, depth and position

Sau số vạch, người xem tay nhìn từng vạch: dài hay ngắn, sâu hay mờ, nằm sát đường tâm đạo hay sát gốc ngón út. Một vạch ngắn chỉ ở sát mép tay khác hẳn một vạch dài vươn vào lòng tay tới dưới ngón áp út.

After the number, the reader looks at each line: long or short, deep or faint, close to the heart line or close to the base of the little finger. A short mark near the edge is quite different from a long line reaching into the palm below the ring finger.

Palm books read it this way. Benham wrote that the longer the line, the longer the affection lasts, and that deep, well cut lines show deep and lasting affection. On position, Cheiro wrote that a deep line lying close to the heart line points to an early marriage, and the higher it sits toward the little finger, the later. The Master uses this only as a hint about life's rhythm, and always checks the other methods before saying anything about timing.

Chẻ đầu, cong lên cong xuống, vạch cắt ngangForks, curves and cross lines

The marks on the marriage lines are what worries people most, because the old books read them in heavy terms. Below are six common marks, drawn enlarged, with how palm books read them. The Master says it plainly: one mark on a small line at the hand edge is never enough to conclude anything about a marriage.

The third column is what the two old books say, quoted in substance so you know where these ideas come from. The fourth column is how the Master puts it to the person in front of him, because a mark on the hand is a hint, never a verdict. The Master never reads the hand apart from the face and the chart, so these marks mean something only beside the other methods.

Những lời đồn cần bỏThe myths to drop

The most common myth is counting lines to know how many times one will marry. Benham himself, whose 1900 book Wikipedia names as the most notable attempt to give palmistry a scientific basis, called the practice of looking at the Mercury mount and predicting one, two, or as many marriages as there are lines a most inaccurate and unscientific thing to do, and wrote that using these lines as sure signs of marriage will lead to constant error.

The second myth is counting small upright lines on the marriage line to know the number of children. Cheiro called them the finely marked upright lines found immediately above the line of marriage, and he himself wrote that in many cases a magnifying glass is needed to see them. A mark that small, which changes with light and with how the hand is cupped, cannot ground any statement about how many children someone will have.

Vì sao không nên tin tuyệt đốiWhy not to take it literally

Wikipedia sums up that palmistry is widely viewed as a pseudoscience because interpretations contradict each other and its predictions lack evidence. With the marriage lines, the two classics themselves disagree: Cheiro reads them as signs of marriage, Benham calls them lines of affection and warns against counting. No scientific study has shown that the number of lines on the hand edge matches the number of marriages or children.

A marriage is something two people make together every day. No palm line decides that for them.

Đặt cạnh cung Thê Thiếp trên mặtBeside the Spouse palace on the face

The hub page states the Master's approach: The Master reads them together with the Spouse palace on the face, never alone. The Spouse palace is one of the twelve palaces of face reading, which the hub places at the fish tail at the outer eye corners. Marriage. It is the outer corner of the eye, where the skin often fans out like a fish tail.

Only when the hand edge and the eye corner say the same thing does the Master treat it as significant. When they differ, he says both, and never picks the more alarming one. More on the twelve palaces in our piece on face reading.

Vì sao Thầy không xem riêng đường hôn nhânWhy the Master never reads these lines alone

The marriage lines are the smallest and most easily misread marks on the hand. Read alone, they invite overstatement. The Master sets them beside the Spouse palace on the face, beside the heart line that shows how one loves, and for those with twin charts, beside the Spouse palace of Tu Vi and the day branch of Bazi, which Bazi treats as the spouse palace. Only when the methods point the same way does he speak.

So đường hôn nhân trên hai tayComparing the marriage lines on both hands

The number and clarity of lines on the two hands usually differ. Modern practice treats the non dominant hand as what one was born with, the dominant hand as what one has lived and built. For a right handed person, one line on the left and two on the right does not mean two marriages. The Master reads it as a heart that is naturally single minded, with life having added another deep bond, which may be a friendship, a past love, or the same partner in a new way.

The steps for comparing both hands are in our palm reading guide. For the marriage lines, clear, well lit photos of both hand edges are needed so that true lines are not confused with wrinkles.

Anatomy divides palm creases into major and minor ones. In 1970 Popich and Smith reported in Pediatric Research that hand creases develop between weeks 7 and 14 of fetal life and record the early flexional planes of the developing hand. In 2010 Park, Shin, Jung and Chung, in Anatomy & Cell Biology, defined minor palm creases as those narrower than twice the width of an epidermal groove on a palm print, and observed rather than analysed them.

The marks on the hand edge that palm books call marriage lines are small and fine, in an area that crease studies rarely measure. Science has not linked them to marriage or children. The reading of meaning in this piece is traditional physiognomy, for reflection and self understanding.

The Master separates two parts. Measuring covers four things visible on the photo: the number of lines, their length, depth and position, the marks on them, and the differences between the hands. Reading begins only once these are set beside the Spouse palace, the heart line, the hand shape and fingerprints, and the chart where there is one.

Đọc để hiểu cách mình thương, không để loRead to understand how you love, not to worry

The Master reads the marriage lines to talk about how a person bonds: single minded or easily moved, early or late, needing space or needing closeness. He does not say how many times anyone will marry, how many children they will have, or anything that would unsettle a couple.

A forked line, a drooping line, or no visible line at all is nothing to fear. Understanding how you love helps you care better for the people you love.

Hỏi đápQuestions

Đường hôn nhân nằm ở đâu trên bàn tay?Where are the marriage lines on the hand?

On the outer edge of the hand, below the base of the little finger and above the heart line. They are one or a few short horizontal marks running from the edge into the palm, best seen from the side of the little finger.

Do three marriage lines mean three marriages?

No. Benham, author of a classic 1900 palm book, called predicting marriages from the number of lines most inaccurate. Palm books read the lines as deep bonds, and the Master never reads them as a number of weddings.

What if I have no marriage line?

Nothing to worry about. The marks can be very fine and hard to see in a photo or poor light. No visible line does not mean no partner. The Master also reads the Spouse palace on the face and the heart line.

Does a forked marriage line mean divorce?

It should not be read that way. Old books read a fork as living apart or affection fading, but one mark on a small line cannot settle anything. The Master reads it as two people needing space and needing to tend their closeness.

Do small lines on the marriage line show children?

Palm books call them children lines, yet Cheiro himself wrote they often need a magnifying glass to see. No study confirms they match the number of children, so the Master does not use them to predict.

Xem đường hôn nhân ở tay nào?Which hand should I look at?

Both. The non dominant hand is what one was born with, the dominant hand what one has lived. Different counts on the two hands are common, and the Master notes both before reading, always with the Spouse palace on the face.
