Trên vách đá vôi dựng đứng bên khúc uốn của sông Răut, các tu sĩ Chính Thống từ thế kỷ 15 đã đục vào đá một tu viện hang gồm nhà nguyện và các phòng tu, trên đỉnh có cây thập tự đá và tháp chuông. Ngay trên đồi làng Butuceni là ngôi nhà thờ Chính Thống xây đầu thế kỷ 20, nay là nơi sinh hoạt của cộng đoàn tu sĩ được lập lại năm 1996. Cả thung lũng là khu bảo tồn văn hóa tự nhiên có dấu vết người Geto-Dacia và một đô thị thời Kim Trướng, được Moldova đưa vào danh sách dự kiến Di sản Thế giới năm 2017.
