Nhà thờ tạc trong lòng mỏ muối ở độ sâu 180 mét dưới núi Zipaquirá, do kiến trúc sư Roswell Garavito Pearl thiết kế và khánh thành ngày 16 tháng 12 năm 1995, thay cho nhà thờ muối cũ của thợ mỏ những năm 1950. Lối vào đi qua mười bốn chặng Đàng Thánh Giá tạc bằng muối, dẫn tới gian giữa có thánh giá lớn, được bình chọn là Kỳ quan thứ nhất của Colombia năm 2007.
