A flat-topped sandstone mesa beside the Fourth Cataract bend of the Nile featuring a 75-meter natural rock pinnacle shaped like a crowned Uraeus cobra, venerated from c. 1450 BCE under Thutmose III and throughout the Kushite Kingdom at Napata as the Pure Mountain where Amun dwelt, encompassing the Great Temple of Amun (B500), King Taharqa's rock-cut Temple of Mut (B300), and royal pyramids.
