Ngày 28 tháng 11 năm 1981, tại một trường nữ trung học do các nữ tu điều hành ở làng Kibeho, miền nam Rwanda, Đức Mẹ được kể là hiện ra với các nữ sinh, xưng mình là Nyina wa Jambo, Mẹ Ngôi Lời. Các lần hiện ra kéo dài tới năm 1989, và ngày 29 tháng 6 năm 2001 giám mục giáo phận Gikongoro công bố xác nhận thị kiến của ba chị Alphonsine, Nathalie và Marie Claire, với sự chấp thuận của Tòa Thánh. Đây là nơi Đức Mẹ hiện ra duy nhất ở châu Phi được Giáo hội công nhận, được gọi là Lộ Đức của châu Phi, mỗi năm đón hàng trăm nghìn khách hành hương.

Why is my country still grey
