Ngôi đền thờ thần Shiva mọc lên giữa biển ở vịnh Paria, công trình một đời của Sewdass Sadhu, người Ấn Độ sinh ở Benares sang Trinidad từ năm lên bốn. Khi ngôi đền đầu tiên ông dựng trên bờ bị phá vì nằm trên đất tư của một công ty đường, ông quyết dựng đền ngoài biển, một mình gánh đá đổ nền suốt khoảng 25 năm. Năm 1995, dịp 150 năm người Ấn Độ tới Trinidad, ngôi đền hình bát giác được dựng lại khang trang, nối với bờ bằng một lối đi bộ.
