Nhà thờ chính tòa của Tổng giáo phận Cap-Haïtien, đứng trên quảng trường Place d'Armes, dâng kính Đức Mẹ Lên Trời từ lễ làm phép năm 1718. Qua ba thế kỷ, ngôi nhà thờ nhiều lần cháy, sập và dựng lại, nặng nhất là cơn động đất ngày 7/5/1842 chỉ để lại vài bức tường ngoài. Việc làm lại kéo dài đúng một trăm năm, từ lần làm phép phần đầu năm 1878 tới lễ làm phép nhà thờ đã hoàn chỉnh ngày 7/5/1942, với vòm lớn và mặt tiền có hàng cột được sửa năm 1929.
